    THE MID-SOMERSET ORCHESTRA SUMMER PROM

    BREAKERS! Cornwall and the Sea

    Saturday 5th July 7:30pm

Inspired by the sea and the sea-swept land of Cornwall, the MSO's 2008 prom opens with a controversial allegation of unproven criminal activity in "The Wreckers" by Ethyl Smyth, conjures up Arthurian legend in "Tintagel" by Arnold Bax and ends with the foghorn frolics of "Padstow Lifeboat" by Malcolm Arnold, this concert's dedicatee, who died in 2006. The MSO welcomes Kathy Taylor Jones as singer in Edward Elgar's "Sea Pictures" and "Rule Britannia" by Thomas Arne arranged by Malcolm Sargent.

    Tickets
